Now it’s time to
demonstrate our home tasks. The task was to translate one of the songs on-line.
To my surprise both of the teams have chosen the songs of the British group “Queen”.
The leader is Freddie Mercury.

supporters. You have to make up words with negative meaning using prefixes.
It’s time to translate
some word combination from Russian into English. You have a minute and 10 word

speakers. You have to say some words about the English language.
What team was the best? Hold the GREEN card or the
ORANGE card.
The English language is
understandable for everyone and people from different countries can easily
understand each other when they speak of love, sing love songs and read poems
about this feeling love can also be expressed through a dance.
O, my love is like a red, red rose,
That's newly sprung in June.
O, my love is like the melody,
That's sweetly played in tune.
As fair art thou, my bonny lass,
So deep in love am I,
And I will love thee still, my dear,
Till all the seas go dry.
Till all the seas go dry, my dear,
And the rocks will melt with the sun!
And I will love thee still, my dear,
While the sands of life shall run.
And fare-the-well, my only love.
And fare-the-well a while!
And I will come again, my love,
Though it were ten thousand miles!

'Cause we are the

Of the world
Мира
1. I've paid my
dues Time after time - Я
Выражение to pay
one's dues может иметь значения: заплатить взносы; заплатить, что положено;
Time after time
например: to pay a visit - нанести визит; to pay attention - обратить внимание.
I paid my lawyer a visit
and a fee.
I miss my wife's cooking -
whenever possible.
It's better to be looked
over than overlooked.
3. No time for
4. I've taken
my bows And my curtain calls
take a bow -
поклониться, сделать поклон;
take a call / take a
curtain call / take the curtain - выйти на аплодисменты после окончания номера;
6. But it's been no bed of roses -
No pleasure
выражение a bed of roses - легкая, приятная жизнь (или ситуация).
It's no bed of roses
7. I consider
it a challenge before the whole human race - Я считаю это настоящим испытанием перед лицом всего
I challenge
you to fight me.
This task is a
real challenge.
This is a challenging
job.

Behind the curtain, in the
pantomime
Hold the line, does

Show must go on

The show must go on

My make-up may be flaking
But my smile still stays

Whatever happens, I'll

On and on, does anybody
know what we are living for
I guess I'm learning, I
must be warmer now
I'll soon be turning,
round the corner now
Outside the dawn is
breaking
But inside in the dark I'm
aching to be free
1. On and on, does anybody
know what we are looking for - Все дальше и дальше, знает ли кто-нибудь, чего мы ищем
On and on - О действии, которое
в этом значении: to go on - продолжать; to look on - продолжать смотреть; to
2. I must be warmer now - Наверное, я ближе к цели сейчас
Warm. Hot!
You are close.
Warmer. Warmer. Hot! -
значением warm связано выражение to get warm - напасть на след.
3. I'm aching to be free -
I'm aching to be free
I'm dying
to meet him. I'm dying for a cup of
strong, hot tea.
4. On with the show - Продолжайте шоу / Продолжим шоу
сокращения фразы get on with something - продолжить что-то.
Get out of my way!
Out of my way!
Come over here!
Over here!
Get back to work!
Back
to work!
On with the show
Let's get on with the show (Давайте
