The aims of the lesson: Develop pupils’ abilities in oral speech; Enrich pupils’ knowledge about seasons;
I.Teacher: Dear boys and girls! I am very glad to see you at our lesson. Today we'll speak about many interesting things: your favourite seasons, weather, people's activities., Let's start. How are you?
P-s: We are fine, thanks. And you?
Teacher: I am not well today. I think it's because of the weather. What is the weather like today?
P. 2: To my mind the weather is fine today. It is snowing hard and there is no wind.
II. Teacher: Look at these pictures:
Teacher: What season is it?
P 1: It is winter.
Teacher: What are winter months?
P. 2: Winter months are December, January and February.
Teacher: What is the weather like in winter?
P. 3: I think it is cold, frosty and windy in winter.
Teacher: Do you like winter? Why?
P. 4: I like winter because I have winter holidays and I can ski, skate and play
Teacher: And what season is it?
P. 5: It is summer.
Teacher: What are summer months?
P. 6: Summer months are June, July and August.
Teacher: Is it cool or hot in summer?
P. 7: In our place it is hot in July; and in June and August it is warm.
Teacher: Is summer your favourite season? Why?
P. 8: Of course summer is my favourite season, because I can swim, go to a picnic and fish.
III. Teacher: Let's improve our pronounciation:

IV:Put the verbs into the right form. (The pupils write the sentences in their exercise-books).

V:Teacher : Look at the blackboard, please. (The pupils see the names of animals: a monkey, a frog, a giraffe, a cock).
Tell me what season they like and why.
For example: A polar bear likes winter because it is frosty.

There are four seasons in a year. They are winter, spring, summer and autumn.
Winter begins w December. The winter months are December, January and February. The weather is cold. frosty and windy in Winter. It often snows. Everything is white with snow. The days are short and the nights are long. Winter is time for fun. Children can ski, skate, sledge and plav snowballs. We celebrate New Year on the 31st of December and Christmas on the 71" of January.
Spring begins m March. It lasts for three month: March, April find May. In early spring the weather is changeable. Sometimes it is cold and rainy, hi late spring the weather is sunny and warm. Everything begins to grow. Spring is a wonderful season. In spring there are many holidays: the 8th of March, the f of May, the 9th of May. Children like spring. They play different games: hopscotch, tag6l eapfrog. They often go for walks.
Summer begins in June and lasts for three months: June, July and August. Summer is the holiest season. The weather Is warm, sunny and bright. Everybody likes summer. Many People go to the country in summer. Summer is the best season for sports m the open air. People play football, basketball, tennis, badminton, bathe and swim. Schoolchildren have their summer holidays.
Autumn begins in September and lasts for three months;
September October and November. In early autumn the weather is sunny, warm and bright. In late autumn the weather gets cooler. It often rains. The weather is cloudy, rainy and wet. The days become shorter and the nights longer. Autumn is a beautiful season. The leaves are red, brown, green and yellow. It is a “tasty” season. There are a lot of fruit and vegetables. Autumn is a season when a school year begins.
Put the sentences in the right order:

VI. Read these small texts and put the numbers:
№1 The weather is cold. Usually it snows. The days are short and the nights are long. You can see snow everywhere. The rivers and lakes freeze and we can go skating and skiing. Children play snowballs in the yard.
№2 It is a very nice season. The weather is fine, it is warm. There are many green trees in the streets, in the parks and in the yards. Sometimes it rains, but as usual the sun shines brightly. The birds return from the hot countries and make their nests.
We all like this season.
№3 It is hot or warm. Sometimes it is hot. The days are long and the nights are short. There are many green trees and nice flowers in the parks and in the squares in summer. The pupils don't go to school, they have got their summer holidays.
№4 It is cool. The weather is changeable. It often rains. The days become shorter and the nights become longer. The birds prepare to fly to the South. One can see yellow, red, brown leaves everywhere. It is time for gathering harvest.
