The theme of the lesson: “Teenagers’ free time fun ”

The tasks of the lesson: - to provide exercises for the usage of Reported speech;
- to introduce grammar on “Reported speech”;
- to develop the ability of analyzing and comparing a new theme with the same grammatical structure in Kazakh language;

The process:
Good morning students! Today we will discuss аbout teenagers’ free time activities and learn a new grammar theme “Reported speech”. For beginning our lesson, I want you to look on the board.
I. Discuss in pairs how you like to spend your free time.(Slide 2)
a) I love hanging around the Central Park. We are all into skate-boarding and we can show off our skills there (Jack)
b) I love to spend my free time window shopping in Pushkin Square. Some of the shops are very expensive. There are some fantastic cafeteria where you can get simple and cheap meals and drinks. My favourite is an Internet cafe (Jane)
c) I don’t like to hang out with boys and girls who are missing school, writing graffiti, breaking windows and bullying other kids. I don’t feel comfortable about it. I’m hot into it.
IV. Make up your own sentences using these words. (Slide 8)
V. Now look on the board and read the sentences in two columns (Slide 9)
Right column
Helen says: “I like playing computer games”
Nick says: “I am gardening”
Kate says: “I finished cleaning the house”
Left column
Helen said that she liked playing computer games.
Nick said that he was gardening.
Kate said that she had already finished cleaning the house.

Helen said (Past Simple) that she liked (Past Simple) playing computer games.
Nick said (Past Simple) that he was gardening (Past Continuous).
Kate said (Past Simple) that she had already finished (Past Perfect) cleaning the house.
VI. Complete the sentences with the correct forms of the verbs.
