GRAMMAR REVIEW

work. Ex. 50,51 p.17
3.
T: We
have reviewed how nouns form their plural. You understand that there are
rules and there are exceptions. Abstract and uncountable nouns have
no plural at all. And as to the word “people» its singular is a «person», а «man». The word «peoples» means “народы», and its singular is a people. E.g.
Ukrainians are a people living in Ukrain and other countries of the world.

Text for reading MOTHER TERESA.
Agness
Gonxha Bojaxhiu was born in Skopje, in Yugoslavia, in 1910. Her family were
all Albanians, but she said, «The people of the world are my people». She
first went to Ireland as a young nun when she was 18 and learned English.
After that she went to India, first to Bengal and then to Calcutta. She
called herself « TERESA « after Saint Therese. She lived in a convent
and taught Indian girls. One day in a train to Dajeeling, a voice inside
her said, ”You must leave the convent and yelp the poorest people in India».
She bought a cheap sari (an Indian robe) from a market. Her Archbishop
blessed it and then she started ytr work in Calcutta. Soon many others
joined her. They called themselves Missionaries of Charity. Like Mother
Teresa, they wore Indian saries. All her life she was helping everyone
who was ill, dirty, poor, or dying. She loved them all. In 1979 she won the
Nobel Peace Prize. She said, “To feel no one wants you, to feel no one
loves you…” that's the worst sickntss in life.»
