Мета уроку:

Навчальна- розвиток мовленнєвих навичок за вивченою темою; вдосконалення навичок аудіювання та читання; активізувати лексику по темі.

Розвивальна -розвиток здатності здійснювати продуктивні мовні дії, розвиток комунікабельності і кругозору учнів

Виховна- формування уявлення про спосіб життя британців, виховання шанобливого ставлення до чужої культури, традицій Британії, почуття співпричетності до чужої культури і більш глибоке усвідомлення своєї культури. Обладнання уроку: интерактивная доска, видеофильм.


I. Організаційний момент.

Teacher: Hello, students! Who is on duty today? Who is absent? What date is it today? What is the weather like today?

Children: ( We are. Доповідь чергового.)

Teacher: Do you agree that the weather is good(bad) today?

II. Ознакомление с темой урока.

Teacher:Children, I propose you to watch a short video and try to guess what we are going to speak at our lesson about.

Teacher: What is the topic of our lesson?

Student: British lifestyle. ( слайд 1)

Teacher: Yes, you are right! ! Today at the lesson we are going to speak about the British. What words do you associate with “ British Lifestile”? ( учні складають таблицю та записують на дошці)

Teacher: Well done! During our lesson we’ll try to discuss these aspects of British life.

III.Розвиток діалогічного та монологічного мовлення.

Teacher: What do you know about Britain? Use the map! (слайд 2)

Student: The full name of this country is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland . It consists of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It is an island country. It is the greatest country, which have own traditions and features. The British have also own features such as clothes, food, sport and others. So, let’s talk about these features.

Teacher: Thank you. Take your place. The next question is British family. Say some words about it. (слайд 3)

Student 2: A typical British family used to consist of mother, father and two children. In most families both parents work. Very young children go to nursery school or stay with babysitter. Parents try to spend their free time with their children. They go to the cinema, museums or parks.

Student 3: The British are polite and well-mannered people. Polite words or phrases such as «Please», «Thank you» and «Excuse me» are used very often in Britain. The British people are the greatest tea drinkers. They drink it at meals and between meals. The English tea is usually strong and with milk. The British love animals very much.

Teacher: «The Englishman’s home is his castle» , isn’t it?( слайд 4,5)

Student 4: Yes, it is. The English are stay-at-home people. “There is no place like home”, they say. British people like to feel comfortable and safe in their homes. There are different kinds of houses in Britain: block of flats, detached (a house not joined to another house), semi –detached (two houses joined together), terraced (several houses joined together), cottages (homes of country people), bungalows (houses without stairs). An English family prefers a house with a fireplace and a garden. The most popular hobby is gardening.

Teacher: What customs and traditions do you know?

Teacher: Now we shall learn to listen and hear. You‘ll listen to the text about the British queen. After listening you’ll answer my question: What is the queen Elizabeth fond of? (На дошці незнайомі слова)

The Queen Elizabeth II is one of the richest women in the world. Being a queen is a really busy job. Elizabeth II gets up early and begins the day by looking through newspapers. Then she reads letters from the public and tells the staff how they should be answered. The Queen has daily meetings with her private Secretary who helps her to do paper work, and lots of meetings with ambassadors, new judges and bishops. In the afternoons she opens new hospitals, bridges, factories. Once a week the Queen has a meeting with the Prime Minister and they discuss government business and important things that are happening in the country. In the evening she reads the report of the day from the Parliament. She must agree to every new law. In her free time the Queen enjoys horse racing, fishing and walking in the countryside. She also enjoys photography and likes taking photos on her travels.

Teacher: The Queen of England (Elizabeth II) has got lots of homes. Sometimes she lives at Buckingham Palace in London and sometimes at Windsor Castle in Windsor.

Teacher: Write the verbs in the gaps.

In 1705, the Duke of Buckingham (1) built Buckingham Palace. Queen Victoria (2) _____ there in 1837. After that, different kings and queens lived in the palace. Windsor Castle

1. Money problems __________

The Queen opened Buckingham Palace to the public for the first time in 1993. Why? Because she needed money after a big fire at Windsor Castle. The fire lasted for 15 hours and it destroyed a lot of rooms.

2. Big Houses __________

Buckingham Palace has more than 500 rooms and 78 bathrooms. 19 of the rooms are open to the public for two months each year. Windsor Castle is a lot bigger - it has over 1,000 rooms!

3. The gardens __________

The gardens at Buckingham Palace are very big. In 2002, the Queen had a big pop concert there to celebrate 50 years of being Queen. She also has big tea parties there and invites different people to them. For a picnic, go to Windsor. The gardens there are bigger and they are always open.

Teacher: Today at the lesson we have spoken about British people and their traditions. Most people are proud of their traditions and customs and they carefully follow them.
