P:- Our homework was Ex. 1 at page 69. We should put
the verbs in the correct form. And we should prepare information about the USA.

Does the Queen rule the country? (No, she doesn’t rule the country. She is a symbol
of the country’s history and its traditions.)
6) What does the Queen do? (She travels about the UK,
meets the people, entertains important foreign visitors and makes official
visits.)

today we’re going to the USA. The theme of our lesson is We’re in America. But
before we start our travelling let’s pronounce the words which will be
necessary for us.

- Today’s lesson will be as a competition. We
have two groups: the first group is Young and clever and the second one is
Lucky people.
It is spring now. All trees will be in blossom soon.
So I will give you tulip for each right done task.
Which group will collect more flowers will be winner.
Activity 1. Look, listen and repeat
Objective: to practice the pronunciation of the new
words
Teacher reads the words and PP repeat them and point
to the right place on the map.

-PP you had a task to prepare some information about
the USA.
The first group had to prepare information about
symbols of the USA.
The second group had to tell us about places of

the blackboard with the flashcards turn by turn and describe them.
The pupils of the first group tell about a flag,
emblem, geographical position, the first president, the present president.
The pupils of the second group tell about the Statue
of Liberty, the Golden bridge, Hollywood landmark, the Empire State Building,
The Metropolitan Museum.
While presentation teacher shows slides.

Read about the places the pupils are going to visit in America.
The
USA is divided into 50 states and the District of Columbia. Some states are
famous for their noisy cities. Others are famous for their trees and mountains.
Some states have kilometers and kilometers of farmland. The largest state is
Alaska. You can see big bears there. Michigan is situated in the valley of the
Great Lakes. New Jersey, on the Atlantic coast, is famous for its gardens, and
Minnesota, for its wonderful wheat fields. Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth
president, began his political activity in Illinois and this state is called
the Land of Lincoln. California is situated on the west coast and is famous
for Hollywood and films. Montana is full of sheep and cows. It’s also the land
of cowboys, Indians and rodeo. Do you know what Florida is famous for?

to stimulate PP imagination
Three
participants from each group turn by turn go to the blackboard. They should
choose the cards, read them silently and mime the meaning of the words. Members
of group who are sitting at their places should guess the meaning.
