Britain’s International Policy in the 19th century Britain enjoyed a strong place in Europe. Britain’s trading position in the world was the strongest one. It kept ships of its navy in every ocean. In Europe Britain didn’t want any nation to become strong. Britain supported Turkey against Russian expansion.

Industrial Power In 1851 Queen Victoria opened the Great Exhibition of the Industries of all Nations. Britain was producing more iron than the rest of the world together. Britain had the largest fleet in the world. By 1840 total length of the railway was 2,400 miles.
