Topic of the lesson: The Media. Grammar: be able to; have to.

Aims:

I. Educational: to develop studentsability to talk about Mass Media;to recycle the vocabulary on the given theme “Mass Media” grammar: First Conditional.

II. Developing: to develop pupils' skills and habits in monologue (dialogue) speech through asking questions, making up different conversations; to develop the pupils' speaking, listening and writing habits;develop critical thinking,logical speech;develop reading skills.

III. Brining-up: to bring up feelings of respect the culture of other people.

The method of the lesson: verbal, explanation, demonstration, exercises,interactive method.

The type of the lesson: consolidation lesson; presentation and interaction.

The form of the lesson: frontline, individual, pair work, group work.

Visual aids: geographical map of Kazakhstan,pictures of different robots on the interactive board,slides.

Technical aids: an interactive board, slides,texts for reading.

The procedure of the lesson:

1 Organization moment. Greeting.Conversation b/n pupils and teacher; with the pupil on duty;b/n pupils and teacher according to cheme:T- S; P-1,2,3; T- S1,2,3,4; S1-S2-S-3.

Introduction the theme of the lesson “Mass Media "Средства массовой информации".

Good morning students! I am glad to see you.

The topic of our lesson is – «Mass Media». We have been discussing the problem of using differente appliances in our everyday life for some lessons. Now, it is time to speak about your attitude to them if they are pieces of technology you can hardly live without. In the other words which of them are junk (really useless) and which are extremely useful.

2.Фонетическая зарядка.

As you know science is important to most people living in the modern world for a number of reasons. On the one hand, scientists have helped to develop many of the modern tools of war. On the other hand, they have also helped to keep peace through research which has improved people’s life. What most important inventions of the 20th century can you name? Speak one by one.

(Учащиеся друг за другом называют слова по теме «Средства массовой информации».

Речевая зарядка.

Do you have some of these pieces of gadgets or machines at home? What are they? Why do you like or dislike to use modern invention in everyday life? Give us some reasons.

Possible answer: (Возможный ответ)

- I think that a TV set is the most important thing in the house. Our family get together in front of it. We can relax and watch TV in the evening.

Or

- Some of the inventions, for example a vacuum cleaner or a washing machine are less important. We do not often wash or clean the house, once or twice a week. And I’m sure we can do without a sewing machine. Nobody in our family can make clothes.

3.Аудирование.

The next point of our lesson is listening comprehension. Your task is – to listen to the dialogue between two persons Bob and Karin. (Intermediate 1 – Listening-Interview-Practice)

English Discoveries.

We shall do this work with the help of the computer. Are you ready to start?

So, eight of you will work with listening comprehension and others will do exercise with the help of Professor Higgins programme. Take your seat, students. Press the button and start working. Who is ready, rase your hands. Press your button to check and then to answer.

4.Проверка домашнего задания.

It’s time to check up your hometask and listen to the text of exercise 14 page 82.

Let’s read it and answer the question:
«What is the best title?»

5.Устная речь.

Now, look at the screen. We shall discuss pros and cons of using Mass Media. Our students will tell us about this problem.

(Несколько ребят представляют свои презентации по теме урока)

6.Чтение.

Reading is the next point of our lesson. We shall work using computers. The task is – to use the words given below according to the situation. Take your seats two students near every computer and do this task together.

7.Грамматика. Активизация грамматического материала по теме.

Now, we shall work with grammar rule. First Conditional Sentences. Change the program Pr. Higgins, please. Find unit 41. First open theory then practice.

(Учащиеся меняют программу на компьютере. Открывают p.189-190 и сначала повторяют теорию «Образование и употребление First Conditional», затем выполняют практическую часть – несколько предложений по теме.)

8.Подведение итогов урока.

That’s all we have time for. Thank you everybody. Your marks for answers are…(Выставление оценок за работу на уроке)

9.Домашнее задание.

We have done much work and were successful. But everybody must work hard and home task is prepare Presentation according to theme.

  Урок на тему "Средства массовой информации". На уроке применяются новые подходы в обучении- технология критического мышления, диалоговое обучение, работа в группе и в парах. В конце урока учащиеся проводят взаимооценивание. Каждой группе дается задание на применение критического мышления на основе визуальных средств. Использование таких методов обучения, позволяет создать ситуацию успеха для учащихся, тем самым повысить мотивацию. После выступления в группах, ребята проводят формативное оценивание. На уроке повышается интерес учащихся через применение стратегий критического мышления.
