My image of Canada
Цель урока: обобщение и актуализация изученного лексического и страноведческого
материала, формирование и совершенствование коммуникативных и речевых навыков,
обеспечивающих устно-речевое общение в рамках заданных ситуаций.
Задачи урока:
образовательные: - расширение
социально-культурных и лингво-страноведческих знаний
о Канаде, как о стране изучаемого языка;
развивающие:
- развитие лингвострановедческой компетенции учащихся;
- развитие устойчивого интереса к изучению английского
языка и языковых способностей учащихся;
- развитие практических умений работы в команде.
воспитательные:
- способствовать воспитанию у учащихся понимания и уважения к другой культуре;
толерантного отношения к стране изучаемого языка;
- способствовать воспитанию сотрудничества при работе в
команде.
Тип урока:
повторительно-обобщающий урок.
Форма урока:
нестандартный - “contest lesson”.
Форма работы:
групповая.
Методы обучения:
словесные, наглядные, практические.
Оборудование и
наглядные пособия: видео фрагменты, слайд презентации,
карты-схемы Канады, оценочные листы, цветные карточки для оценивания команд,
интерактивная доска, компьютер.

Приветствие
учителя и учащихся. Организационный момент.

T.: Good
morning, boys and girls. How are you
today? I’m
very glad to see you here. As you see we are going to have an unusual
lesson. You see we have many guests. They are teachers of foreign language of
schools in our city. Now we shall organize a competition between two teams.
Take
your team’s seats. Let’s start our lesson.

Imagine
you have a chance to visit any country you want. Look at the map of the world
and choose a country. So, name the country you want to visit and say why you
would like to visit this or that country.
Thank you,
pupils. You are right. Every country is interesting in its own way.
But… look a
short video.
As for me, I
would like to say with Tommy Douglas words “My
dream is for people around the world to look up and to see Canada like a
little jewel sitting at the top of the continent”. (Слайд 1)
Today
we’ll speak about Canada. And because we have read and learn enough about it
we have a real opportunity to discover Canada and made it more attractive and
closer. And
represent our image of Canada. The title of our lesson is “My image of
Canada” (Слайд 2)
And we shall
organize a competition between two teams.
Now it’s high
time to find out which team knows Canada better.
And I would like
to ask our guests to take part at the contest as jury.
Dear jury, you
have evaluation cards and some maple leaves of different colours. These are
the score cards: red is for “5”; yellow is for “4” and green is for “3”. At
the end of every contest you will give your points to the teams count your
scores and say who the winner is.
Teams, try to do
your best to be the first, to get as many points as possible. I wish you good
luck.

We
have two teams. Let them introduce themselves.

And
now let’s begin our competition. The first contest is warming up. You can see
the chart with the title of topics and the numbers of questions. Choose the
topic and the number of question in turn. If you answer the question you will
get these points. If no, the other team will have a possibility to answer the
question and get more points.

Команды
по очереди выбирают вопросы из любой области за любую стоимость. Если команда
даёт правильный ответ на выбранный вопрос, то получает соответствующие баллы.
Если команда даёт неверный ответ, другая команда имеет возможность ответить и
заработать больше баллов. Вопросы охватывают основные сведения о Канаде.

Второй конкурс.
Guessing cities
by their sightseeing.
|
When
we speak or remember about some place or city, we image a certain building,
street or square. We say “Paris” and remember the Eiffel Tower; London – Big
Ben; Astana – Bayterek and so on. And when we pronounce Ottawa or Toronto
what sightseeing we can image?
And
our second competition is guessing cities.
See
the presentation and name the city. When you guess the city you will tell us
something about it.
I
have prepared two presentations for each team. (Слайды 26-29)

слайдах демонстрируются виды достопримечательностей того или иного города.
Учитель озвучивает названия достопримечательностей. Каждая команда по очереди
отгадывает и называет город, о котором идёт речь. На слайде появляется
название города. Учащиеся имеют возможность проверить правильно ли они дали
ответ. Назвав город, участники команд рассказывают об этом городе.

think the contest is very intense. It’s time to relax a little. Let’s do some
exercises for eyes.

конкурс “Map-puzzle”
|
It
is not only the workout for your eyes but some kind of training for our next contest
“Map-puzzle”.
You
should collect the map of Canada as a puzzle. You have a poster with outline
of Canada and the provinces and territories cutting from paper. Collect the
map as faster as possible. Who will be the first will win this contest. And you
will name all provinces and territories.

are for you, your questions are for us”.

I
see you have prepared some questions for the opposite team, which includes four
different answers, and only one answer is correct. Every team has prepared
two questions. Each correct answer worthies 5 points.

Участники
каждой команды задают команде сопернице по два вопроса. В каждом вопросе
предоставляется четыре варианта ответа. За каждый правильный ответ команда
получает пять баллов. Члены команды могут прокомментировать свои ответы, дать
пояснения.

projects.
|
It
seems to me our guests have never been to Canada. Today you have an
opportunity to invite them to visit this country. It was your home task
making a welcoming presentation to this country. I hope you have used your
bright ideas, illustrations, useful words and phrases. Let’s listen and look
your presentation.

рассказом о путешествии и проведении отпуска в Канаде.

All
the contests are finished. It’s high time to count the points and name the
