Robert Burns.
Robert Burns (25 January 1759 – 21 July 1796) was a Scottish poet and a lyricist. Robert Burns was the most famous national poet of Scotland who wrote poems and songs in standard English and in a Scots dialect.
Robert Burns was born in Alloway, a small village in Scotland. He was the eldest of seven children of William Burnes, a self-educated farmer. Robert lived in povetry and had to work hard all his childhood.
He had little regular schooling. He got much of his education from his father – reading, writing, arithmetic, geography and history. Later, he had home education with an intelligent teacher John Murdoch.
Burns not only wrote poems, he also collected Scottish folk songs. People loved him because he told them about love, friendship, poor life, beautiful nature in his poems.
Scottish people are proud of Robert Burns and celebrate his birthday as a great holiday.

Игра – викторина “Reading is cool”
Данное мероприятие разработано для учащихся 6 – 9 классов общеобразовательной школы осваивающих факультативный курс по чтению адаптированных книг на английском языке. По сути это праздник юных читателей, включающий:
· подведение итогов количества прочитанных книг по классам;
· командную игру – викторину “Readingiscool” с использованием кроссвордов, творческих заданий на закрепление лексического материала, видео вопросов (с использованием иллюстраций и фильма);
· театрализованные постановки эпизодов из книг;
· музыкальные паузы (исполнение песен на английском языке).
Задачи
· обобщить знания учащихся по прочитанным книгам;
· закрепить лексику;
· развивать навыки говорения
· развивать умение работать с заданиями разного типа;
· воспитывать у учащихся умение работать в группе.
Цель: повышение мотивации к изучению английского языка и формирование интереса к чтению на английском языке.
Оснащение мероприятия
· интерактивная доска
· костюмы для театрализованных постановок
· шумовые предметы для команд (колокольчик, погремушка, барабан)
· задания для команд на листах А4 (распечатанные из презентации)
