Aim: forming skills in reading, speaking on the theme “Your style”

Objectives: - To revise vocabulary;

  • To encourage student to talk about style, clothes;

  • Develop pupil’s critical thinking;

  • To develop pupils’ ability to communicate in English.

  • Good afternoon pupils. I am glad to see you! Are you ready to work? Who is absent today? Let’s start our lesson. Today our theme is “Your style”.


For creating English atmosphere I want you to repeat the tongue twisters:

Pat’s black cat is in Pat’s black hat.
I saw Susie sitting in a shoe shine shop. Where she sits she shines, and where she shines she sits.

- Most plural nouns formed by adding to the base end –s, or –es. f. e.: a map-maps, a bike-bikes, etc.

Plural nouns ending in base –s, -z, -ch, -sh, formed by adding to the base end-es. F. e.: a bus-buses, a dress-dresses, etc.

Nouns ending in the letter “y” formed by adding to the base –ies. F.e.: an army-armies, a city-cities.

In the formation of the plural nouns ending in a single –f, last letter changes to –ve. F. e.: a half-halves, a wolf-wolves.

Read and translate the text with withdrawal of the new information.

Clothes

Clothes are an important part of modern life. It’s hard to imagine how people can live without clothes. There are various styles of clothes nowadays, so people can choose what to wear. As for me, I have a good collection of clothes in my wardrobe. There are a couple of school suits which are of classic style. Then I have some jeans and T-shirts for casual days. And at last, I have a couple of bright dresses. Most of all I like wearing ordinary jeans with matching shirts. As for shoes, I prefer wearing sports shoes or sneakers but I need to wear some classic black shoes to school. I don’t like high heels because they are uncomfortable. I think that clothes tell a lot about people and can make a strong impression. So if they are tidy and nice the impression will be positive. The choice of clothes also depends on seasons and weather conditions. In winter, for example, it’s important to have a warm coat and a pair of boots. A jacket and rubber boots would be nice for spring and autumn. However, my favourite time is summer, when everyone can wear light T-shirts and shorts.
