ex. 38, p. 70.

The first article contains local news as it
explains for teenagers where to apply for the necessary information.
The second article contains international
news as it is about relations between two countries.
The third article has national news as it
is about a foundation which is necessary for the Russian people.
Read the articles carefully. Let’s discuss
them. Look at the task of ex. 42. So, your task is to find the international
words. Say them in a chain. Others must translate them very quickly. For
example, Vova says “planning”, Kate says «планирование».

The questions under the letter b) should be
answered now. Work in pairs, please. Report to the class what you think about
the problem of choosing the career.

We should start thinking about our careers
as early as we can because we must prepare for special exams to enter
institutes. We must be ready for the future.
I have heard of the special centres which
help teenagers to plan their career. I would ask such questions as “ How could
I define what my career must be connected with?”, “Are there any special tests
to define my preferences?”.
Pass over to the second article. Put the
phrases from ex. 43 on p. 71 into the sentences they were taken from, see the
example. (Britain preferred to be safe from Europe
while the European countries were fighting. The two countries which were
building the tunnelfrom each endfinally met in the Tunnel in 1994.)
The lesson is coming to an end. At home
continue working on the last article.
