Welcome to our Cafe «Manhattan Bagel»
Урок—презентация в 9-м классе.
Цель урока: развивать способности и желание учащихся к общению
на английском языке.
Задачи:
1.Развивающая: развивать коммуникативные умения и навыки в
процессе общения на ИЯ, умение подготовить связное высказывание по теме.
2.Обучающая: помочь овладеть диалогом этикетного характера,
учить учащихся составлять вопросы, учить учащихся работать в группах.
3.Воспитательная: формировать мотивацию к изучению английского
языка, познакомить с культурой других народов, расширять кругозор учеников,
рассказать о национальных блюдах разных стран, познакомить учащихся с правилами
поведения в гостях, за столом.
Оборудование: вывески, меню, приглашения, рецепты, блюда, столовые
приборы, плакаты, учебники.
Ход урока.
1.Вступительное слово учителя.
Teacher: Dear friends, today we will visit a new café, we`ll
see what kind of food they serve, we`ll take some recipes, we`ll know how to
behave in a restaurant.
2.Диалог Саши и Алисы. Приглашение в кафе.
Alice: Hello,
Sasha. I want you to try peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and iced tea. I`ll
show you how to make them. And I`d like you to try different types of American
food. I`ve heard a new café is opened on Main Street. I`d like you to come with
me and taste my favourite bagels. They`re worth visiting.
Sasha: What is a bagel?
Alice: A bagel is like a doughnut but with different
fillings. I like bagels with berries.
3.Появление клоунов. Clown A: Good morning, dear friends, come to our
cafe, try our dishes, write down the recipes, take part in our contests.

Clown
B: You`re welcome. We`d like to ask
you some questions ( Ps задают вопросы по очереди):

B: Attention! A new café “Manhatten
Bagel” will be opened on Main Street.
Pupil: Hello, I`m the owner of the Manhatten Bagel Store in Atlanta
and I want to invite you to visit our new café that will be opened today. “We
serve tasty scones, sandwiches, and all kinds of soft drinks. And of course
we`d like you to try our traditional bagels. The perfect bagel is crispy on
the outside and chewy on the inside.”.
Clown
A: Thank you. It`s time to taste your
food.
Clown
B: Delicious fish
fingers, A milkshake, a cola,
A burger with cheese, An ice-cream, a pie
A jacket potato. An orange ice lolly,
Please, have one of these! Come on, have a try!
6.Посещение кафе.
Clown
A: A lot of people go to the
restaurants. What can they try there?
What
do they take for desert?
Pupils: They can take barbecued pork ribs, hot Italian
sausages, grilled leg of lamb, different salads, cakes, ice-cream, etc.
Alison: Let`s go to the cafe. I`m hungry and thirsty.
Sasha: But I`m afraid I don’t have good table manners.
Clown
B: Don`t worry. Our waiters will help
you. They will teach you good table manners.
7. Рассказ официантов о правилах поведения в ресторане.
Clown
A: Zul, let`s check how our visitors
have understood table manners (ученики переводят правила поведения).
a)You should put your napkin on your lap
b)You shouldn`t talk with your mouth full.
c)You should always arrive on time.
d)You shouldn`t put your elbows on the table, etc.
Very
good. Let`s go to the cafe.

I`m hungry. What about having a bite?
Nick:
Good idea. Let`s drop into this small café.
Mary:
O.K, it`s very nice here.
Waiter:
Hello. What will you order? Here`s the menu.
Nick:
Thank you. Have a look, Mary, what will you order?
Mary:
My lunch is usually a very simple meal, so I`d like some salad and coffee.
Waiter:
I can offer you sliced cucumbers with sour cream.
Mary:
Very good.
Nick:
I prefer tomato salad. And coffee, of course.
Waiter:
We hope you`ll like our food.

Alice: Would you like some bagels, Sasha? Let`s go to that
café.
Waiter:
Good-morning. Here is our menu.
Sasha:
Oh, they have different kinds of bagels. Let`s try garlic and poppy bagels.
Alice: Yes, they are delicious.
Waiter:
Let me recommend a cup of English tea.
Sasha:
I`d like to try it. It`s tasty.
Alice: I like it, too. Thank you very much.

B: Well, as I know, your homework was
to find different recipes.
What
can you offer us?
Pupils: I can show you how to make scones.
I can offer you the recipe of cooking borshch.
I can teach you how to make pelmeni.
10) Беседа с
доктором.
Clown
B: So today you`ve tasted different kinds of food. But do you know that not
everything that you eat is good for you. Let`s listen to the doctor`s
recommendations, what food is useful for you and what you can / must do to be
strong and fit.
Ученик рассказывает о здоровой и полезной пище. Учащиеся читают текст и
рассказывают что нужно сделать, чтобы быть здоровым и сильным.
Pupils: Smoking is bad for you. You shouldn`t eat too much
sugar, etc.
Ученики готовят плакат о том, как правильно питаться:
You should eat a lot of
fruit and vegetables
You
should have four meals a day
You should drink a lot of water
You
shouldn`t eat a lot of sugar
You shouldn`t eat a lot of salt

Here you see the proverbs that are connected with food. Let`s ask our visitors
to find the Russian equivalents:

Clown A: We`ve prepared some riddles:
It`s not sweet, it`s not meat,

Итог урока.
Teacher: Thank you for your coming to our cafe, I think you`ve
spent your time rather well.
