План-конспект урока по

английскому языку в 8 классе по теме:

«The protection of the environment»

«Ecological problems»

Цели: создать условия для формирования коммуникативной компетенции учащихся на основе изученных лексических единиц, речевых и грамматических структур по теме “Охрана окружающей среды”.

Задачи:  Образовательные:

-  актуализация лексики по теме  «Ecological problems»;

- формирование интереса к  экологическим проблемам и умение высказываться по-английски по теме «Ecological problems»;

- совершенствование умения поискового чтения;

- активизация лексики по речевым видам деятельности – чтение, говорение, аудирование, письмо;

- систематизация и закрепление знаний по теме: «Употребление определенного артикля «THE» c географическими названиями»

Развивающие:

- развитие умения монологической и диалогической  речи;

- развитие логического мышления, памяти, внимания;

- развитие умений сопоставлять, анализировать и обобщать;

- развитие умений выражать своё мнение на английском языке, давать оценку своей работе

Воспитательные:

-  воспитание чувства ответственности за сопричастность к проблемам экологии;

- воспитание интереса к экологическим проблемам, бережное отношение к окружающей среде;

-воспитание умения выслушивать собеседника, вежливого реагирования в различных ситуациях общения;

Тип урока: комбинированный

Оборудование: компьютер, презентация к уроку “ Ecological problems ”, проектор, экран, учебник.









Ход урока

1.Орг. момент (2 мин)

-Good morning pupils!

-Good morning, teacher!

-I’m very glad to see you at our lesson. At last lessons we discussed the theme “Our planet”. We know that the name of our planet is…..

- The name of our planet is The Earth

-The Earth, is large and beautiful. There are many forest and mountains, oceans and seas, rivers and lakes. The Earth has the second name. What is the second name of our planet?

- The second name of our planet is The Blue Planet.(слайд №1)

- Now let`s read the poem about the world written by a British girl, Miriam Mackley

The world needs a friend

To love and depend on

In times of trouble……

The world has hope yet

If the children let it

And if we do it right

Together we can make the world

A better place

-How do you think? Why is the world need a friend?


- In my opinion the world needs a friend, because it has problems.


-Yes, you are right. It has problems, ecological problems. Therefore when we speak about our planet, we must speak about Ecological problems. The theme of our lesson is “Ecological problems” The aim of our lesson is to learn to describe




the ecological problems and ways of their solving.(cлайд №4) Now look at all these pictures and tell me what ecological problems you can see.


- Global warming, pollution of air, pollution of water, killing animals, drop litter, forests are cut (слайд № 5,6,7)

-You are right! Now there are a lot of ecological problems in the world, in our country. Let`s read article about the problems of our planet. Choose the most suitable heading from the list A - F for each part (I - 4). There is one heading you do not need to use. There is an example at the beginning. You have 5 minutes

-You time is up. Let`s check your answers.

-Unfortunately, our village also has some ecological problems. And now let`s divide into two groups and make a cluster.

5.Проверка домашнего задания: «Употребление определенного артикля THE c географическими названиями»(10 мин)

-The ecological situation in our village and in the world is not good. Fortunately, there are kind people - volunteers, different organizations, which help to protect the environment. Look at the screen! There are many organizations.

-The Greens, The United Nations Environment Programme, The World Wide Fund for Nature, The United Nations Forum on Forests, Greenpeace (слайд № 8)

-Pay attention, please! They are the names of organizations. Look at the beginning of the name and answer my question: Do we use the article THE with the names of organizations?

-We use the article THE with the names of organizations

-Yes, you are right. We use the article THE with the names of organizations. But the name of organization GREENPEACE is an exception.

-Let’s remember the grammar rules about using of the article THE with the geographical names. It was your home work. Let`s do a small test. Fill in the definite article the if needed.

7. Развитие навыков говорения (10 мин)

-Well, we know that environment has a lot of problems, but what should people do to protect nature?

8. Домашнее задание (2 мин)

-Well all people should remember about this rules. Now it`s time to write your hometask. In pairs choose one environmental problem and make a presentation. It must be consist of 5 slides. In the first slide your must write your surname and the theme of your presentation. Did you understand me?

-Today at our lesson we get 2 marks. The first mark is for the writing test and the second mark for your oral answers and activities at the lesson. Your marks are….


- Well, our lesson is almost over. We’ve spoken about ecology and the importance of keeping the environment clean. Pollution is getting worse and worse. But I’m sure that you’re real friends of our planet. We all must do our best to keep air, water and land clean. I’d like to finish the lesson with a very beautiful song by Lui Armstrong “What a wonderful world”

The rainforests are dying, rare plant and animal species are disappearing. rivers and seas are being contaminated, crops are failing to grow, people are dying of hunger and the air is being polluted. It's time we woke up to these problems and started repairing the damage.

One of the major problems is the destruction of the rainforests in South America. They are home to half the world's species and to millions of people. Moreover, the rainforests clean the air by absorbing carbon dioxide and giving out oxygen. The trees are being cut down for paper or to make room for cattle farms'. As a result, birds and animals lose their homes and die. This destruction is also bringing about changes in the climate, air pollution, flooding, drought and famine. If we continue to burn and cut down the rainforests as we are doing now, the earth will never be the same again.

Another big problem is water pollution. Do you like swimming in the sea or drinking a cool glass of water on a hot day? These simple pleasures may soon become a thing of the past. Factories are polluting our rivers and lakes with dangerous chemicals. Oil tankers are releasing thick, black oil into our oceans. Tons and tons of industrial and domestic waste are poured into our seas. Consequently, sea life is threatened with extinction.

Air pollution is another important issue. The cars and factories in and around our cities are giving off dangerous fumes. In the past few years, more and more people than ever before have developed allergies and breathing problems. If we don't do something now, our cities will become impossible to live in.

Fortunately, it is not too late to solve these problems. We have the time, the money and even the technology to prepare the way for a better, cleaner and safer future. We can plant trees and adopt animals. We can create parks for endangered species. We can put pressure on those in power to take action. Together we can J save our planet. All we need to do is open our eyes and act immediately.
