Today I’d like to learn about your tastes in reading and to share mine with
you. But we need to revise the words which we know about reading. I’ll give
you the cards with sentences. But some elements are missing there. Our task
is to restore them and then translate into Russian.

Good job. Now it’s time to find out about your tastes in reading. We’ll
listen to your stories and count the number of vocabulary words which were
used. The winner will be a person who used the largest number of words, so
listen to your classmates carefully.

Now we proceed. Please open your activity books on p.65, ex.1. I give you 2
minutes to read the task and the story itself. Our aim is to form questions
to the answers given below. Please note the Tense form used in this text.

Let’s remember how we form questions in Past Simple.
Good, now when we are ready. let’s make up questions.
Perfect. So, as I found out, all of you like reading, that’s really amazing.
And sometimes you want to advise your favorite books to your friends. And
they tell you to retell them briefly to have a certain idea about the plot.
Our task is to know how to retell a story and certain phrases may help you do
this.
Please open your textbooks on p. 159 ex.3. Here you may see charters helping
us to begin our narration, to continue it, to come back to the previous
action (if necessary), to express parallel actions and to finish our story.
But the very first sentence in your narration should give us the title of the
book and it’s author. So, before narrating your first sentence is: The title
of the I’ve read is … by…
Then you retell the story itself.
Now let’s translate the phrases which help us to build our narration.

Good. But to make our narration beautiful, it should be logical, right?
That’s why we need connectors. They connect one part of the sentence to
another helping us to explain something or to express our opinion. Connectors
are very important and they not only connect the sentences but also make your
speech more beautiful and pleasant. Be sure that you know them and use them.
Now let’s try to clear up a mess which I have in my cards. I have some
phrases and some connectors on the list and their translation. But they are
all mixed up. We should give each word the proper translation and its
function in the narration.
